There are several excellent local resources for environmental education that provide so many programs or resources for various grade levels that it’s impossible to list them all on this website.  For teachers not already aware of these services, be sure to check out the following:
Ganaraska Forest Centre
This beautiful centre in Northumberland County on the Oak Ridges Moraine offers a wide range of programs for many grade levels - day use or residential.  Information can be accessed through the Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority website or by phoning (905) 797-2721 or (905) 885-8173 or by email at gfc@eagle.ca .
Kawartha Outdoor Education Centre
This popular centre just outside Lakefield has a wide range of programs and facilities for grades 4 and up.  Some of these programs are listed on the Keenet website under specific grade levels.  For more information, call (705) 652-3860 (toll free: (866) 532-4597), email at info@campkawartha.ca or visit the website .
Kawartha Pine Ridge (KPR) Learning Resources Centre
This central resource centre for the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board has a vast collection of books, videos and kits available for use by classroom teachers.  Many of the resources recommended on the Keenet website may also be available through the KPR Learning Resources Centre.  Teachers should contact the Learning Resources Centre directly for more information, by phone at (705) 742-9773 or toll-free at 1-800-263-3755 or by email at LRC_Info@kpr.edu.on.ca .  Assistance is available to help teachers choose appropriate resource materials from the centre, and resource booking can be done on-line.

Schools that have not registered by September may call individual Outdoor Education Centres to request spaces that may still be available.
